Around 14 years later we have a new neighbour. Renovation going on with lots of drilling.......... for 2 days already. Today was exceptionally bad as the dust came in to our house. The shoes, plants, chairs and mat outside the house was coated with a thick layer of dust. The area near our front door inside the house was lightly coated with dust too. When they stopped for lunch I brought in the slippers and washed away the dust. I even place some floor rugs to block the dust from coming in. But the dust was still around. as they continues their work after the short break.

Well, they soon stopped around 4 pm or so. Heard them shovelling up something and I kaypoh, spied them through the peep hole and saw them carting their rubbish away. Later on I saw them cleaning away the dust with water the area in front of my house, chairs, shoe racks and mats. Very nice of them. Now I don't feel angry with them even though I had to clean my plants and the dust in my house.

#1's - 14th Birthday

Today is my #1's 14th birthday. That is also the anniversary of the date we got the keys for this flat.
Yup, we had been staying here for 14 years. Got the keys the day he was born. It was also the day my eldest SIL came to Singapore.
And the birth date of Somkey Robinson . Heard this bit of info on the radio this morning.

Happy Birthday !!!

What ??? No cake ?

Yes. This Mother did not get or bake any for the birthday boy. I decided to make a mixed fruit salad for him instead.

Every year the same old kind of cake....boring ! We usually end up with the same kind so that everyone will eat it. And usually it will end up in the fridge for a few days as we can't finish it. Not to mentioned the dark side - my expanding waist line and lack of control. I just can't be able to resist cake as long as I know it is around some where in the house.

That is my take not his but he is sporting enough to try new things or ideas.

You see, if I buy a cake they won't be able to have the cake, right after the dinner I had prepared. As it is they had to wait a while before they can attack the fruit salad.

" What is this ????? "

Goes the other 2 clowns of mine.
They sure hate fruit salads. They don't mind eating the fruit on it's own but not all at once at the same time. Plus there are certain fruits that each of them don't like.
Well, too bad boys, this is your brother's favourite.

What followed were the two of them making comments...such as...

"Looks like we are eating some one's brain !" " Eye balls !!! " (They are actually longans with the blueberries stuck into them by the boys - who else ! )

"Eweeeeee....."

"This is real gross. Please spare us !"

I had reminded H about today's dinner but he had to stay back after work - a last minute decision by his boss who want something done by today . So we started dinner with out H.

#3 - "Hey may be Papa is under that dish"

#2 - "Yeah, maybe he want to surprise you. When you open the foil he will jump out and say Happy Birthday ! "

#1 - No,lah like Harry Potter. Sirius face comes floating out of the dish when I open it instead of in a fire, lah. "

They really spend some time discussing how H will pop out from that dish.. Usually they will just attack their dinner. I was the one who open the foil and serve them.

Today I prepared some grilled chicken, salad for dinner. A western kind of dinner. Cheaper than eating out at a western diner.

Cam whore during dinner - as usual. :)

Again #2 reluctant to face the camera.

Lately nothing much to blog about...... not in the mood for it.

Have been marking lots of crosses on a piece of embroidery I am working on. Hope to finish it soon.

My Father is not feeling well lately. He has back pain and it affects his diet, sleep and mobility. he had a fall yesterday. Luckily there was no injuries sustained from it.
He saw an orthopaedic doctor and he said it might be due to his old fracture and his age.

A fracture - that was new. We never heard him mentioned it before. After I spoke to him he told me that he suspect he sustained it during a high jump session in his school days. he all but forgotten about it because after that fall on the hard sand bags they carried him to the side and after a while he was able to walk. It was only when the orthopaedic doctor looked at his X rays and saw the healed fracture that he remembered about that long ago incident.

Hopefully he will get well soon. He and my brother has planned to visit our ancestor home in China some time this June. This trip will include Beijing too. I worry for him but at least this time they won't be all alone wandering around China. This time my brother will be there if anything happens. Which is a great relief.

Aiy0h ! I though I have nothing to blog about and once started can't stop typing.

Tomorrow the representatives from the town council and the housing board will be dropping by our flat. They still can't find the source of water to why my bedroom wall was dripping water even though it had not rained for 2 weeks. Even though it had stopped now the dripping water outside my boys room has not.

We suspect it is due to the air conditioning of our upstairs neighbours'. But they claimed they have not been using the air con.
Will see what those 2 blokes are going to say this time round. This water dripping thing had been going on for nearly 2 years now.

Another thing, the other day I was getting ready to go out with the boys and H. As usual I was in front of the mirror. Then came in #2.
He asked me
" Why do I bother to make myself pretty as I have already found a mate ? "
Had been watching too much animal channel !

The guys in my house are all watching the movie Poseideon right this moment. I am marking 'X' on my stitching. Well I was until H asked me why aren't I watching the movie. Told him my reason and continued with what I was doing. Then I thought I could just ramble on in my blog - just to update this pathetic blog of mine. I really have been neglecting it.

Why aren't I watching the movie ?

Hard to explain but actually it is nothing that great.

I just don't want to watch a movie where a ship is turn upside down and watch the actors dying one by one. It will just add more pressure on my phobia of water. The same with the movie Titanic.

Can't help feeling that. It might put me off a cruise ship forever. It might be due to my fear of water.

H said this is nonsense !
