Today I baked some cookies. I tried using Skittles instead of those M&M's. When I bought those candies my boys were very happy. But it soon turned to horror when I told them what I was using it for. They (cookies) did not turn out as what I had expected. The candies melted and oozes out. My boys said they look freaky, real gross looking and gave various comments on them.
But they were willing to try. Most probably because they are made with their favourite candy. Soon they asked for more. As for me I prefer with out those candies. But seeing the cookie jar fast emptying makes me very happy. (^_^)
Talking about freaky things #2 and I are at the moment going after trick or treat points from knocking various doors. Virtual doors that is.
Facebook have this fluff pet application. Knock on the door of various fluff pet owners, you might be given a treat and points. With this points we can use it to exchange Halloween deco stuffs.
This is the most we ever came near to participating in any Halloween activities.

Country Bumpkin !!!
Today, or should I say yesterday since it had past midnight now. I went down to Orchard Road. So many changes happening there. A new shopping complex built over the Orchard train station. Took a taxi, it went past Scotts Road, I notice that Scotts Shopping Center is gone ! It is being replace by a new building which is still under construction.
I tell you this....I feel so .....like a country bumpkin in the city kind of feeling. Every where I turn or look there seems to be some changes. Be it inside or outside the malls.
When we came out of the train station you can't see Orchard Road as it is all boarded up, with some work going on. They put up some art sculptures (see below). For some reason they resemble some sort of food items to me. Onions Rings.
Kebabs - you know those kind that turns on the grill before the meat is sliced off.
Might be because I have not had my lunch yet.
Dangerous !!!!
I ended up at Burger King with #2. I had a Whopper. Sinking my teeth in to it was...blissful.
Sinful but blissful.
Shiok!!!
Why was I out about with #2 - the other two had tuition lessons.
I had an errand to run. Getting a present and delivering it personally. It happens to be our cousin T daughter's one month old celebration. Went over to their place which so happens to be near Orchard Rd. The above picture was the cakes they gave out to friends and relatives. So cute, sweet and pretty. And so different from my time when it were only ang koo( a kind of red coloured traditional cakes ), red eggs and some simple cakes.
Aww... the baby Samantha is so cute, soft and cuddly. I bought some real girly stuff for her. I tell you shopping for a girl was real fun. Too bad I bought #2 with me. He kept asking why must I choose pink. That burst my bubble. But not enough to stop me from feeling ....I don't know how to put it. Let's just say having three boys and only shopping for boys clothing for years. Being in the pink, pastel, lacy environment is just fun.
I don't have much opportunity to shop there since I have three boys (duh ) and most of my close friends have boys too.
Is there a conspiracy going on ?
Really....From childhood friends to those I know since I move over here. Even those who had girls..... it was long ago since I bought girly things for them. Ten over years. To be exact - thirteen years.
Aren't I pathetic ?

Do You Know........
Today 16th of October happens to be World Dictionary Day.
It is named in honour of Noah Webster. He is the guy behind the Webster Dictionary. He published his first dictionary,
A Compendious Dictionary of the English Language, in 1806. We have a copy of one too in our house. Not that 2 century old one but the copy that H bought long ago.
It might be a very old edition, the cover is torn but it still serves us very well. Although to use it H had to put on his reading glasses. The words are real small.
By the way do you know what does 'ZIP' in the word Zip Code stands for ? We see it so often whenever we fill up forms or whatever that needs our address. We know that it makes the postman's job easier in delivering our snail letters.
As a child I use to wonder why the letter ZIP was used. To zip up our letters ? Never did went to find out. Until today. Thanks to the Webster Dictionary.
The answer is :-
Zone Improvement Plan.
So now I know and now you know too.....

Have a nice day.

Changi Walk
Last weekend we went for a walk along the Changi boardwalk. The sun had set by the time we reached it. It was still a pleasant after dinner walk. The boys as usual were a head of us.
Quiet with hardly anyone walking on it except for us.The Changi Boardwalk is new. It is 1.2km along the coast. The last time we were here it was partially built. This time we manage to walk most of it. Could had finished the whole walk if the boys did not complain of tiredness. The view would be great too with views of the sea if we were here in the day.
We promised ourselves we will make another trip here soon, in the day.

Quote Of The Day
A bank is a place that will lend you money if you can prove that you don't need it.
Heard this on the radio while I was half asleep, preparing breakfast for the boys. Half asleep but still manage to catch it as it was being regurgitated by the ever cheerful radio DJ.
Personally I must admit I am not a morning person.
Hahaha...very funny.
Never thought so when they said that to me early in the morning.
So why am I here so early in the morning.....

Cookies
Made some cookies yesterday. My boys helped with shaping them. Turning the dough into an evil looking cookie man was their main objective. Calling themselves Dr Evil.
It is only my eldest who like raisins but the other two are ever willing to paly with the cookie dough.
Who do you think is more evil ? The one who made an army of evil cookie men or the one who ate them ?
Laughing their head off as they break or chomp on the cookie?

Breakfast Anyone ?
Good Morning !
I hope you are having a sunshine filled morning.
Made some omelette for my boys this morning.
Lately I have been preparing more 'brain' food for them. No pig brains or anything like that. Just nutritious food and mostly their favourite too.
Guess I am feeling bad for going after them during this exam period.
Come to think of it, during my school days I avoid eggs during any major exams.
You know why ?
Because in Cantonese 'kai tan 'sounds like getting zeros in your exam results.
Silly ? Yeah my group of friends and I really did believe in it.
To redeem our self once we reach secondary school it was all forgotten as we have other things that interest us by then. Now this is my breakfast. Oats, wheatgerm, cranberries, bananas and some leftover, remaining prunes. Before I mix it all up with plain yogurt.
Ewee... goes my boys.
Yeah I too wish that I can have some of those eggs too but age is catching up and it is not advisable anymore.
Ironic isn't it ? I avoided eggs when I don't have to but now that I want them I can't .

Just.....
Every one tells me to breath in and out slowly....
Did it work ?
Not really........I am still hyper ventilating. But I also know that I can't really do much now. I just hope he do not need to re-sit the exam.
Meanwhile other than me hyper ventilating I have been de-stressing myself by changing my other blogs' skin. It works. Or maybe I have resigned myself to whatever the exams result would be.
Surfing the net has a calming effect. Watching comedies too. Lately any sobbing dramas seem so not right with me.
Whatever .......
I found this in my mail today. A mail box that I have not open for a while ...sorry to those that had sent anything to me.
Have a great week a head digesting this.
Hahahaha............
